The heel tab that comes up until the ankle, offering a very good hold by preventing the foot to slide backward… To improve their comfort, the shape of the sole has a few main features: When well-adjusted, the laces won’t need to be touched up anymore, and it will become easy to slip them on in an instant. Their design has been refined to be as stable as possible and minimize the pressure and rubbing that could be caused by the laces. These minimalist sandals are made for optimum stability, durability, and lightness. ![]() We have selected high-quality leather, rubber, and laces to make sure the sandals would endure intensive wear and require very little treatment of the leather. With the full tool set, even beginners will be able to make very well-finished sandals in 2.5 to 4 hours. Our aim was to put together a kit with everything you would really need to make these leather sandals at home, with simple tools. A small piece of beeswax to polish and seal the edge of the leather A piece of linen cloth, to polish the edge A piece of sandpaper grade 600 and 800, to polish the leather and to sharpen the scalpel An edge beveler, to cut down the corner on the edge A pair of heavy-duty scissors to cut the rubber A large piece of rubber sheet of 3 mm in thickness A large piece of vegetable-tanned leather in 8-9 Oz thickness / 3-3.5 mm thick The kit includes (depending on the options): The tutorial will demonstrate how to make them from A to Z including drawing a personalized pattern, cutting the leather, and going over basic leatherwork techniques to make them look professionally finished. Suggestive patterns are included, but standard pattern sizes are not included (yet). They are easy to make from an outline of your feet to ensure that they will be perfectly adapted to your foot shape and size.
